If you want to customize your Custom List list using InfoPath, Following are the steps
- Select the Custom List in your site
- navigate to the list settings on the Ribbon
- Click on Customise Form button on the Ribbon,
- Now, List form will be opened in InfoPath
- Modify the form and Publish it again
