Enable JavaScript on IE8

Click ‘Tools’ on the menu bar’
Select ‘Internet Options’
Click the ‘Security’ tab
Click the ‘Custom Level’ button
Scroll to the ‘Scripting’ section
Select ‘Enable’ to enable whichever JavaScript activities you want to work.

Default settings:

Scripting
Active scripting - Enable
Allow Programatic clipboard access - Prompt
Allow status bar updates via script - Disable
Allow websites to prompt for information using scripted window - Disable
Enable XSS filter - Enable
Scripting of Java applets - Enable
